“Shade of Blue” my thesis film at Chapman University is in the middle of production. Besides a few hurdles we are making our days.  This film is about  a young man’s lifelong dream is to become a working police officer, but his fantasy notion of what a cop is comes into direct conflict with the realities of the job. We are shooting “Shade of Blue” on the Panavision Millennium Super 35mm, 3Perf.  Our references for the film are 80′s neo noir drama films. We are incorporating high key contrast in most of the scenes. Most of the film is being shot on sticks and a Fisher 10 dolly but some of the more loose scenes are handheld.  We have had some insert shots of texting, which were lucky enough to get a 100mm macro lens from Mike Carter at Panavision. More stills to come soon!
